Set up web access
The MAP Energy Web Portal is included with MAP Energy Premium. Use it in a desktop or mobile browser to monitor your energy site, change supported Powerwall settings and manage your automations.
- In the mobile app, open Settings → Account Management → Web Portal Access.
- Create a separate web username and password. Passwords need at least 12 characters. Enter the password again to confirm it.
- Select Create web login, or Update web login if you already have one. Wait for Web login saved.
- Open aptica.uk/map-energy/portal/ and sign in using those web credentials.
Your web username and password are separate from your Apple, Google, Tesla and supplier sign-in details. Choose your Energy site after signing in. The selector uses the site name where it is available; a site-key label can appear when a name is not available.
Live energy and Powerwall controls
Live shows Solar, Battery, Home, Grid and EV energy flows, with daily energy totals. The visible portal refreshes its overview regularly; use Refresh to request another update. An unavailable or interrupted connection is shown rather than being presented as a current reading.
Select Backup, Mode or Export to change a supported setting, then select Confirm. The portal waits for updated Powerwall readings to confirm the change. If confirmation is unavailable, refresh the current setting before retrying.
| Control | Choices |
|---|---|
| Backup Reserve | Move the slider through 0–80%, then directly to 100%. See Backup Reserve. |
| Operation Mode | Savings (Time-Based Control), Self-Powered or Backup, where supported. |
| Energy Exports | Don’t Export, Solar Only or Everything, where supported by the Tesla system. |
Tesla and your system configuration determine which controls are available and how the Powerwall responds. These controls do not override system export restrictions.
Explore the five energy nodes
Select a node on Live to open its graph and detail view. Point at or tap a graph, or move Explore readings, to select an actual recorded point and see its time and values.
| Node | Details |
|---|---|
| Solar | Recorded power and energy, plus a forecast where available from your configured provider. Tomorrow is offered when forecast data is available. |
| Battery | Daily state-of-charge history and the reserve reference, plus charge/discharge energy by month or year. Daily SOC is estimated from Tesla energy history and the current charge, as in the app. |
| Home | Home / Vehicle energy usage, daily demand and longer-term totals. |
| Grid | Import and export with their own colours and values. Import and export are shown separately in the summaries. |
| EV | Charging power and estimated charging energy from the available EV readings. The daily view covers today and the previous six days; missing readings can limit the result. |
Solar, Home, Grid and Battery offer Day, Month and Year views. Battery daily SOC history is limited to today and the previous six days. Forecasts and reconstructed SOC are estimates, not additional meter readings.
Supplier and History
Supplier shows import first and export second: left/right on wider screens and top/bottom on phones. Hover over or tap a rate bar to see the time and rate to one decimal place. Open Rate information to distinguish when supplier data was checked from when saved rates were last updated. See Supplier Tariffs & Power Perks.
History retrieves energy data from Tesla when you open it. It does not read the history stored on your phone. Browse completed days, open a daily detail, inspect half-hour slots and review the import usage ring, costs and available standing charges. See Energy History & Costs for how rates, smart periods and free events are applied.
Create and manage automations
The portal and app use the same saved automations. In Automations, select Add automation, choose a trigger, configure its conditions and add up to four compatible actions. You can optionally give the rule a name, then save it.
- Edit changes the existing rule. A paused rule remains paused after editing.
- Pause / Resume is available for EV, battery, price, power, solar forecast and Power Perks triggers, and repeating schedules. One-off schedules and Power Hour rules do not offer this control.
- Delete automation is inside the editor. Select Confirm delete to remove the rule and its future runs.
- Run Log shows recent outcomes. Use Needs attention to review failed, partial or blocked runs.
Schedules use the energy site’s time zone, displayed in the editor. EV and Power Perks choices depend on the site’s setup; Home Assistant actions require an existing webhook connection. Read the full automation setup and editing guide.
Dedicated IOG / EDF Smart Bolt-On setup and automatically managed smart charging rules remain controlled through the mobile app. The portal shows their current scheduling status.
Connections and browser sessions
Settings summarises connected services and tariff-sync information. Use the mobile app to connect or reconnect Tesla, suppliers, chargers, forecasting services and Home Assistant, or to configure smart charging.
In the app’s Web Portal Access screen you can update the web login, revoke a listed browser, sign out all browsers or disable web access. Updating the login signs out existing browser sessions. Saving a new login after disabling access enables it again.
Login and refresh help
“The username or password is incorrect”
Use the separate web login saved in the app. If you reset it, wait for the saved confirmation, then sign in again with the new details.
The normal portal address connects to production. If you are testing a staging build, use the staging portal address supplied for testing, which contains ?environment=staging. Staging and production have separate accounts, web credentials and data; changing credentials in one does not update the other.
My session ended
Sign in again. Updating web credentials, revoking a browser or disabling web access can end an existing session.
A value is missing or looks old
Check the selected Energy site and its time zone, then use Refresh. For supplier rates, check Rate information as well as the page’s Loaded time. A dash means the required data is unavailable, not necessarily zero. Review the connection in the app if refreshing does not resolve it.
